The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

Шта, сине мој, шта, сине утробе моје, и шта, сине завјета мојих?

What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

Не дај кријепкости своје женама, ни путова својих онима што сатиру цареве.

Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

Није за цареве, Лемуило, није за цареве да пију вино, ни за кнезове да пију силовито пиће,

[It is] not for kings, O Lemuel, [it is] not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

Да не би пијући заборавио уредбе, и измијенио правицу којему невољнику.

Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

Подајте силовито пиће ономе који хоће да пропадне, и вино онима који су тужна срца;

Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

Нека се напије и заборави своје сиромаштво, и да се више не сјећа своје муке.

Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

Отворај уста своја за нијемога, за ствар свијех намијењенијех смрти.

Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Отворај уста своја, суди право, дај правицу невољноме и убогоме.

Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Ко ће наћи врсну жену? јер вриједи више него бисер.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [is] far above rubies.

Ослања се на њу срце мужа њезина, и добитка неће недостајати.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

Чини му добро, а не зло, свега вијека својега.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Тражи вуне и лана, и ради по вољи рукама својим.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

Она је као лађа трговачка, из далека доноси храну своју.

She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Устаје док је још ноћ, даје храну чељади својој и посао дјевојкама својим.

She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

Мисли о њиви, и узме је, од рада руку својих сади виноград.

She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Опасује снагом бедра своја и кријепи мишице своје.

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

Види како јој је добра радња, не гаси јој се ноћу жижак.

She perceiveth that her merchandise [is] good: her candle goeth not out by night.

Рукама својим маша се преслице, и прстима својима држи вретено.

She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Руку своју отвора сиромаху, и пружа руке убогоме.

She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

Не боји се снијега за своју чељад, јер сва чељад њезина има по двоје хаљине.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household [are] clothed with scarlet.

Покриваче сама себи гради, тако платно и скерлет одијело јој је.

She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing [is] silk and purple.

Зна се муж њезин на вратима кад сједи са старјешинама земаљским.

Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

Кошуље гради и продаје, и појасе даје трговцу.

She maketh fine linen, and selleth [it]; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Одијело јој је крјепост и љепота, и осмијева се на вријеме које иде.

Strength and honour [are] her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Уста своја отвора мудро и на језику јој је наука блага.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue [is] the law of kindness.

Пази на владање чељади своје, и хљеба у лијености не једе.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Синови њезини подижу се и благосиљају је; муж њезин такођер хвали је;

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her.

Многе су жене биле врсне, али ти их надвишујеш све.

Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

Љупкост је пријеварна и љепота ташта; жена која се боји Господа, она заслужује похвалу.

Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Подајте јој од плода руку њезинијех, и нека је хвале на вратима дјела њезина.

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
