Свето Јеванђеље по Матеју

У то вријеме иђаше Исус у суботу кроз усјеве: а ученици његови огладњеше, и почеше тргати класје, и јести.

At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

А фарисеји видјевши то рекоше му: гле, ученици твоји чине што не ваља чинити у суботу.

But when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

А он рече им: нијесте ли читали што учини Давид кад огладње, он и који бијаху с њим?

But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

Како уђе у кућу Божију, и хљебове постављене поједе, којијех није ваљало јести њему ни онима што су били с њим, него самијем свештеницима.

How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

Или нијесте читали у закону како у суботу свештеници у цркви суботу погане, па нијесу криви?

Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

А ја вам кажем да је овдје онај који је већи од цркве.

But I say unto you, That in this place is [one] greater than the temple.

Кад бисте пак знали шта је то: милости хоћу а не прилога, никад не бисте осуђивали правијех;

But if ye had known what [this] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

Јер је господар и од суботе син човјечиј.

For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

И отишавши оданде дође у зборницу њихову.

And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

И гле, човјек бијаше ту с руком сухом; и запиташе га говорећи: ваља ли у суботу лијечити? да би га окривили.

And, behold, there was a man which had [his] hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

А он рече им: који је међу вама човјек који има овцу једну па ако она у суботу упадне у јаму неће је узети и извадити?

And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift [it] out?

А колико је човјек претежнији од овце? Даклем ваља у суботу добро чинити.

How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

Тада рече човјеку: пружи руку своју. И пружи. И постаде здрава као и друга.

Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched [it] forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

А фарисеји изишавши начинише вијећу о њему како би га погубили. Но Исус дознавши то уклони се оданде.

Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

И за њим идоше људи многи, и исцијели их све.

But when Jesus knew [it], he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

И запријети им да га не разглашују.

And charged them that they should not make him known:

Да се збуде што је казао Исаија пророк говорећи:

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

Гле, слуга мој, кога сам изабрао, љубазни мој, који је по вољи душе моје: метнућу дух свој на њега, и суд незнабошцима јавиће.

Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

Неће се свађати ни викати, нити ће чути ко по распутицама гласа његова.

He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

Трске стучене неће преломити и свјештила запаљена неће угасити док правда не одржи побједе.

A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

И у име његово уздаће се народи.

And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

Тада доведоше к њему бијесна који бијаше нијем и слијеп; и исцијели га да нијеми и слијепи стаде говорити и гледати.

Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

И дивљаху се сви људи говорећи: није ли ово Христос, син Давидов?

And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

А фарисеји чувши то рекоше: овај друкчије не изгони ђавола до помоћу Веелзевула кнеза ђаволскога.

But when the Pharisees heard [it], they said, This [fellow] doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

А Исус знајући мисли њихове рече им: свако царство које се раздијели само по себи, опустјеће; и сваки град или дом који се раздијели сам по себи, пропашће.

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

И ако сотона сотону изгони, сам по себи раздијелио се; како ће дакле остати царство његово?

And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

И ако ја помоћу Веелзевула изгоним ђаволе, синови ваши чијом помоћу изгоне? За то ће вам они бити судије.

And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast [them] out? therefore they shall be your judges.

А ако ли ја Духом Божијим изгоним ђаволе, дакле је дошло к вама царство небеско.

But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Или како може ко ући у кућу јакога и покућтво његово отети, ако најприје не свеже јакога? и онда ће кућу његову оплијенити.

Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

Који није са мном, против мене је; и који не сабира са мном, просипа.

He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

Зато вам кажем: сваки гријех и хула опростиће се људима; а на Духа светога хула неће се опростити људима.

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

И ако ко рече ријеч на сина човјечијега, опростиће му се; а који рече ријеч на Духа светога, неће му се опростити ни на овоме свијету ни на ономе.

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come.

Или усадите дрво добро, и род његов биће добар; или усадите дрво зло, и род његов зао биће; јер се по роду дрво познаје.

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by [his] fruit.

Породи аспидини! како можете добро говорити, кад сте зли? јер уста говоре од сувишка срца.

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Добар човјек из добре клијети износи добро; а зао човјек из зле клијети износи зло.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

А ја вам кажем да ће за сваку празну ријеч коју реку људи дати одговор у дан страшнога суда.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Јер ћеш се својијем ријечима оправдати, и својијем ћеш се ријечима осудити.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Тада одговорише неки од књижевника и фарисеја говорећи: учитељу! ми би ради од тебе знак видјети.

Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

А он одговарајући рече им: род зли и прељуботворни тражи знак; и не ће му се дати знак осим знака Јоне пророка.

But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

Јер као што је Јона био у трбуху китовом три дана и три ноћи: тако ће бити и син човјечиј у срцу земље три дана и три ноћи.

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Ниневљани изићи ће на суд с родом овијем, и осудиће га; јер се покајаше Јонинијем поучењем: а гле, овдје је већи од Јоне.

The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas [is] here.

Царица јужна изићи ће на суд с родом овијем, и осудиће га; јер она дође с краја земље да слуша премудрост Соломунову: а гле, овдје је већи од Соломуна.

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon [is] here.

А кад нечисти дух изиђе из човјека, иде кроз безводна мјеста тражећи покоја, и не нађе га.

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

Онда рече: да се вратим у дом свој откуда сам изишао; и дошавши нађе празан, пометен и украшен.

Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth [it] empty, swept, and garnished.

Тада отиде и узме седам другијех духова горијех од себе, и ушавши живе ондје; и буде потоње горе човјеку ономе од првога. Тако ће бити и овоме роду зломе.

Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last [state] of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Док он још говораше с људима, гле, мати његова и браћа његова стајаху на пољу и чекаху да говоре с њиме.

While he yet talked to the people, behold, [his] mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

И неко му рече: ево мати твоја и браћа твоја стоје напољу, ради су да говоре с тобом.

Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

А он одговори и рече ономе што му каза: ко је мати моја, и ко су браћа моја?

But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

И пруживши руку своју на ученике своје рече: ето мати моја и браћа моја. Јер ко извршује вољу оца мојега који је на небесима, онај је брат мој и сестра и мати.

And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
