Дјела светијех апостола (Писао их свети апостол и јеванђелиста Лука )

А у цркви која бјеше у Антиохији бијаху неки пророци и учитељи, то јест: Варнава и Симеун који се зваше Нигар, и Лукије Киринац, и Манаил одгајени с Иродом четверовласником, и Савле.

Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

А кад они служаху Господу и пошћаху, рече Дух свети: одвојте ми Варнаву и Савла на дјело на које их позвах.

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

Тада постивши и помоливши се Богу метнуше руке на њих, и отпустише их.

And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid [their] hands on them, they sent [them] away.

Ови дакле послани од Духа светога сиђоше у Селеукију, и оданде отпловише у Кипар.

So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

И дошавши у Саламин јавише ријеч Божију у зборницама Јеврејскима; а имаху и Јована слугу.

And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to [their] minister.

А кад прођоше острво тја до Пафа, нађоше некаквога човјека врачара, и лажна пророка, Јеврејина, коме бјеше име Варисус,

And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name [was] Barjesus:

Који бјеше с намјесником Срђем Павлом, човјеком разумнијем. Овај дозвавши Варнаву и Савла заиска да чује ријеч Божију.

Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

А Елима врачар (јер то значи име његово) стаде им се супротити, гледајући да одврати намјесника од вјере.

But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.

А Савле који се зваше и Павле, пун Духа светога погледавши на њ

Then Saul, (who also [is called] Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,

Рече: о напуњени свакога лукавства и сваке пакости, сине ђавољи! непријатељу сваке правде! зар не престајеш кварити правијех путова Господњијех?

And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, [thou] child of the devil, [thou] enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

И сад ето руке Господње на те, и да будеш слијеп да не видиш сунца за неко вријеме. И уједанпут нападе на њ мрак и тама, и пипајући тражаше вођа.

And now, behold, the hand of the Lord [is] upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

Тада намјесник, кад видје шта би, вјерова, дивећи се науци Господњој.

Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

А кад се Павле са својијем друштвом одвезе из Пафа, дођоше у Пергу Памфилијску; а Јован се одвоји од њих, и врати се у Јерусалим.

Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.

А они отишавши из Перге дођоше у Антиохију Писидијску, и ушавши у зборницу у дан суботни сједоше.

But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

А по читању закона и пророка послаше старјешине зборничке к њима говорећи: људи браћо! ако је у вама ријеч утјехе за народ, говорите.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, [Ye] men [and] brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

А Павле уставши и махнувши руком рече: људи Израиљци и који се Бога бојите! чујте.

Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with [his] hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.

Бог народа овога изабра оце наше, и подиже народ кад бијаху дошљаци у земљи Мисирској, и руком високом изведе их из ње.

The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.

И до четрдесет година прехрани их у пустињи.

And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.

И затрвши седам народа у земљи Ханаанској на коцке раздијели им земљу њихову.

And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.

И потом на четири стотине и педесет година даде им судије до Самуила пророка.

And after that he gave [unto them] judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.

И од тада искаше цара, и даде им Бог Саула, сина Кисова, човјека од кољена Венијаминова, за четрдесет година.

And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.

И уклонивши њега подиже им Давида за цара, коме и рече свједочећи: нађох Давида сина Јесејева, човјека по срцу мојему, који ће испунити све воље моје.

And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the [son] of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

Од његова сјемена подиже Бог по обећању Израиљеву спаса Исуса;

Of this man's seed hath God according to [his] promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

Кад Јован пред његовијем доласком проповиједа крштење покајања свему народу Израиљеву.

When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

И кад свршиваше Јован течење своје, говораше: ко мислите да сам ја нијесам ја; него ево иде за мном, коме ја нијесам достојан раздријешити ремена на обући његовој.

And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not [he]. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of [his] feet I am not worthy to loose.

Људи браћо! синови рода Авраамова, и који се међу вама Бога боје! вама се посла ријеч овога спасенија.

Men [and] brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.

Јер они што живе у Јерусалиму, и кнезови њихови, не познаше овога и гласове пророчке који се читају сваке суботе, осудивши га извршише.

For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled [them] in condemning [him].

И не нашавши ниједне кривице смртне молише Пилата да га погуби.

And though they found no cause of death [in him], yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.

И кад свршише све што је писано за њега, скинуше га с дрвета и метнуше у гроб.

And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took [him] down from the tree, and laid [him] in a sepulchre.

А Бог васкрсе га из мртвијех.

But God raised him from the dead:

И показива се много дана онима што излазише с њим из Галилеје у Јерусалим, који су сад свједоци његови пред народом.

And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.

И ми вам јављамо обећање које би оцевима нашима да је ово Бог испунио нама, дјеци њиховој, подигнувши Исуса;

And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,

Као што је написано и у другом псалму: ти си мој син, ја те данас родих.

God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

А да га из мртвијех васкрсе да се више не врати у трухљење овако рече: даћу вам светињу Давидову вјерну.

And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, [now] no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

Зато и на другом мјесту говори: нећеш дати да твој светац види трухљења.

Wherefore he saith also in another [psalm], Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Јер Давид послуживши роду својему по вољи Божијој умрије, и метнуше га код отаца његовијех, и видје трухљења.

For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

А којега Бог подиже не видје трухљења.

But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

Тако да вам је на знање, људи браћо! да се кроза њ вама проповиједа опроштење гријеха.

Be it known unto you therefore, men [and] brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

И од свега, ода шта се не могосте оправдати у закону Мојсијеву, оправдаће се у њему сваки који вјерује.

And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Гледајте дакле да не дође на вас оно што је казано у пророцима:

Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;

Видите, немарљиви! и чудите се, и нек вас нестане; јер ја чиним дјело у ваше дане, дјело које нећете вјеровати ако вам ко усказује.

Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

А кад излажаху из зборнице Јеврејске, мољаху незнабошци да им се ове ријечи у другу суботу говоре.

And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

А кад се сабор разиђе, пођоше за Павлом и за Варнавом многи од Јевреја и побожнијех дошљака; а они говорећи им свјетоваху их да остану у благодати Божијој.

Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

А у другу суботу сабра се готово сав град да чују ријечи Божије.

And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

А кад видјеше Јевреји народ, напунише се зависти, и говораху противно ријечима Павловијем насупрот говорећи и хулећи.

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

А Павле и Варнава ослободивши се рекоше: вама је најприје требало да се говори ријеч Божија; али кад је одбацујете, и сами се показујете да нијесте достојни вјечнога живота, ево се обрћемо к незнабошцима.

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

Јер нам тако заповједи Господ: поставих те за видјело незнабошцима, да будеш спасеније до самога краја земље.

For so hath the Lord commanded us, [saying], I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

А кад чуше незнабошци, радоваху се и слављаху ријеч Божију, и вјероваше колико их бјеше приправљено за живот вјечни.

And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

И ријеч се Божија разношаше по свој околини.

And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.

Али Јевреји подговорише побожне и поштене жене и старјешине градске те подигоше гоњење на Павла и Варнаву, и истјераше их из своје земље.

But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

А они отресавши на њих прах са својијех ногу дођоше у Иконију.

But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.

А ученици пуњаху се радости и Духа светога.

And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
