Римљанима посланица (светог апостола Павла )

Свака душа да се покорава властима које владају; јер нема власти да није од Бога, а што су власти, од Бога су постављене.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Тако који се супроти власти супроти се наредби Божијој; а који се супроте примиће гријех на себе.

Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Јер кнезови нијесу страх добријем дјелима него злијем. Хоћеш ли пак да се не бојиш власти, чини добро, и имаћеш хвалу од ње;

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Јер је слуга Божиј теби за добро. Ако ли зло чиниш, бој се; јер узалуд не носи мача, јер је Божиј слуга, осветник на гњев ономе који зло чини.

For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Тако се ваља покоравати не само од страха него и по савјести.

Wherefore [ye] must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

Јер за то и порезе дајете; јер су слуге Божије које су за то исто постављене.

For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

Подајте дакле свакоме шта сте дужни: коме дакле порезу, порезу; а коме царину, царину; а коме страх, страх; а коме част, част.

Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due]; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

И не будите никоме ништа дужни осим да љубите један другога; јер који љуби другога закон испуни.

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Јер ово: не чини прељубе, не убиј, не укради, не свједочи лажно, не зажели, и ако има још каква друга заповјест, у овој се ријечи извршује, то јест: љуби ближњега својега као самога себе.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Љубав не чини зла ближњему; даклем је љубав извршење закона.

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law.

И знајући ово вријеме да је већ час дошао да устанемо од сна; јер нам је сад ближе спасеније неголи кад вјеровасмо.

And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Ноћ прође а дан се приближи: да одбацимо дакле сва дјела тамна, и да се обучемо у оружје видјела.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Да ходимо поштено као по дану: не у ждерању и пијанству, не у курварству и нечистоти, не у свађању и зависти;

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

Него се обуците и Господа Исуса Христа; и тијелу не угађајте по жељама.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof].
