А послије Авимелеха уста да избави Израиља Тола син Фуве сина Додова, човјек племена Исахарова, који сјеђаше у Самиру у гори Јефремовој.

And after Abimelech there arose to defend Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in mount Ephraim.

И би судија Израиљу двадесет и три године, па умрије и би погребен у Самиру.

And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.

Послије њега уста Јаир од племена Галадова, и би судија Израиљу двадесет и двије године;

And after him arose Jair, a Gileadite, and judged Israel twenty and two years.

И имаше тридесет синова, који јахаху на тридесеторо магаради, и имаху тридесет градова, који се зову села Јаирова до данас и јесу у земљи Галадовој.

And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havothjair unto this day, which [are] in the land of Gilead.

И умрије Јаир, и би погребен у Камону.

And Jair died, and was buried in Camon.

А синови Израиљеви опет чинише што је зло пред Господом, и служише Валима и Астаротама, и боговима Сирским, и боговима Сидонским, и боговима Моавским, и боговима синова Амоновијех и боговима Филистејским; и оставише Господа и не служише му.

And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not him.

Зато се разгњеви Господ на Израиља, те их даде у руке Филистејима и у руке синовима Амоновијем.

And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon.

А они газише и сатираше синове Израиљеве од оне године осамнаест година, све синове Израиљеве који бијаху с ону страну Јордана, у земљи Аморејској, која је у Галаду.

And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that [were] on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which [is] in Gilead.

И пријеђоше синови Амонови преко Јордана да се бију и с Јудом и с Венијамином и с домом Јефремовијем; и би Израиљ у великој невољи.

Moreover the children of Ammon passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed.

Тада вапише синови Израиљеви ка Господу говорећи: сагријешисмо ти што остависмо Бога својега и служисмо Валима.

And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.

А Господ рече синовима Израиљевијем: од Мисираца и од Амореја и од синова Амоновијех и од Филистеја,

And the LORD said unto the children of Israel, [Did] not [I deliver you] from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

И од Сидоњана и од Амалика и од Маонаца, који вас мучише, нијесам ли вас избављао кад вапијасте к мени?

The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.

Али ви остависте мене и служисте другим боговима; зато вас више нећу избављати.

Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.

Идите и вичите оне богове које сте изабрали, нека вас они избаве у невољи вашој.

Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.

А синови Израиљеви рекоше Господу: сагријешисмо; чини с нама што ти је драго, само нас сада избави.

And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.

И побацаше између себе богове туђе, и стадоше служити Господу; и сажали му се ради муке синова Израиљевијех.

And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

А синови Амонови скупише се и стадоше у око у Галаду; скупише се и синови Израиљеви и стадоше у око у Миспи.

Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpeh.

А народ и кнезови Галадски рекоше један другому: ко ће почети бој са синовима Амоновијем? он нека буде поглавар свјема који живе у Галаду.

And the people [and] princes of Gilead said one to another, What man [is he] that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
