2. Chronicles, Chapter 3


And Solomon began to build the house of Jehovah at Jerusalem, in Mount Moriah, where He appeared to his father David, in the place that David had prepared, in the grain floor of Ornan the Jebusite;


And he began to build on the second, in the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

And these [are] the foundations Solomon [laid], to build the house of God: the length [by] cubits according to the ancient measure, sixty cubits; and the breadth twenty cubits.


As to the porch on the front, the length, according to the breadth of the house in front, [was] twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty; and he overlaid it inside with pure gold.

And the greater house he covered with cypress wood, and he covered it with good gold, and caused to go on it palms and chains.


And he overlaid the house with precious stones for beauty, and the gold [was] gold from Parvaim.

And he covered the house, the beams, the threshold, and the walls, and its doors with gold; and engraved cherubs on the walls.

And he built the Most Holy Place its length [was] by the front, of the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and its breadth twenty cubits; and he covered it with fine gold, to six hundred talents;

and the weight of the nails [[was]] fifty shekels of gold, and he covered the upper rooms with gold.


And in the most holy house he made two cherubs of image work, and he overlaid them with gold.


And the wings of the cherubs, their length [was] twenty cubits: the wing of the one [was] five cubits, touching the wall of the house, and the other wing [was] five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub;

and the wing of the other cherub [was] five cubits, touching the wall of the house, and the other wing [was] five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub.

The wings of these cherubs spread out twenty cubits and they were standing on their feet and their faces [were] inward.

And he made the veil of violet, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and caused to go on it cherubs.


And at the front of the house, he made two pillars thirty five cubits high, and the capital on their tops [was] five cubits.


And he made chains, [as] in the oracle, and put them on the capitals of the pillars; and made a hundred pomegranates and put them on the chains.

And he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right, and one on the left, and called the name of that on the right Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
