А кад цар сјеђаше код куће своје, и Господ му даде мир свуда унаоколо од свијех непријатеља његовијех,

And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

Рече цар Натану пророку: види, ја стојим у кући од кедрова дрвета, а ковчег Божији стоји под завјесима.

That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

А Натан рече цару: шта ти је год у срцу, иди, чини, јер је Господ с тобом.

And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that [is] in thine heart; for the LORD [is] with thee.

Али ону ноћ дође ријеч Господња к Натану говорећи:

And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,

Иди и реци слузи мојему Давиду: овако вели Господ: ти ли ћеш ми начинити кућу да у њој наставам?

Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?

Кад нијесам наставао у кући од кад изведох синове Израиљеве из Мисира до данас, него сам ходио у шатору и у наслону,

Whereas I have not dwelt in [any] house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

Куда сам год ходио са свијем синовима Израиљевим, јесам ли једну ријеч рекао коме од судија Израиљевијех, којима заповиједах да пасу народ мој Израиља, и казао: зашто ми не начините куће од кедра?

In all [the places] wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

Овако дакле реци Давиду слузи мојему: овако вели Господ над војскама: ја те узех од тора, од оваца, да будеш вођ народу мојему, Израиљу;

Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

И бјех с тобом куда си год ходио, и истријебих све непријатеље твоје испред тебе, и стекох ти име велико, као што је име великијех људи који су на земљи.

And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great [men] that [are] in the earth.

И одредићу мјесто народу својему Израиљу, и посадићу га, те ће наставати у свом мјесту, и неће се више претресати, нити ће их више мучити неправедници као прије,

Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

И од онога дана кад поставих судије над народом својим Израиљем; и смирићу те од свијех непријатеља твојих. Јоште ти јавља Господ да ће ти Господ начинити кућу.

And as since the time that I commanded judges [to be] over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.

Кад се наврше дани твоји, и починеш код отаца својих, подигнућу сјеме твоје након тебе, које ће изаћи из утробе твоје, и утврдићу царство његово.

And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

Он ће сазидати дом имену мојему, и утврдићу пријесто царства његова довијека.

He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

Ја ћу му бити отац, и он ће ми бити син; ако учини што зло, караћу га прутом људским и ударцима синова човјечијих.

I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

Али милост моја неће се уклонити од њега као што сам је уклонио од Саула, којега уклоних испред тебе.

But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took [it] from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

Него ће тврд бити дом твој и царство твоје довијека пред тобом, и пријесто ће твој стајати довијека.

And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

По свијем овијем ријечима и по свој овој утвари каза Натан Давиду.

According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

Тада дође цар Давид и стаде пред Господом, и рече: ко сам ја, Господе, Господе, и шта је мој дом, те си ме довео довде?

Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who [am] I, O Lord GOD? and what [is] my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

Па и то ти се још чини мало, Господе, Господе, него си говорио и за дом слуге својега на дуго времена. Је ли то закон човјечји, Господе, Господе!

And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And [is] this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?

Али шта ће јоште Давид да ти говори? та ти знаш слугу својега, Господе, Господе!

And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.

Ради ријечи своје и по срцу својему учинио си све ове велике ствари обзнањујући их слузи својему.

For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know [them].

Зато си велик, Господе Боже, нема такога какав си ти; и нема Бога осим тебе, по свему што чусмо својим ушима.

Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for [there is] none like thee, neither [is there any] God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

Јер који је народ на земљи као твој народ Израиљ? којега је ради Бог ишао да га искупи да му буде народ и да стече себи име и да вам учини велика и страшна дјела у земљи твојој, пред народом твојим, који си искупио себи из Мисира, од народа и богова њиховијех.

And what one nation in the earth [is] like thy people, [even] like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, [from] the nations and their gods?

Јер си утврдио себи народ свој Израиља да ти буде народ довијека; а ти си им, Господе, Бог.

For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel [to be] a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.

И тако, Господе Боже, ријеч коју си обрекао слузи својему и дому његову, потврди засвагда, и учини како си рекао.

And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish [it] for ever, and do as thou hast said.

Нека се велича име твоје до вијека, да се говори: Господ је над војскама Бог над Израиљем; и дом слуге твојега Давида нека стоји тврдо пред тобом.

And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts [is] the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.

Јер си ти, Господе над војскама, Боже Израиљев, јавио слузи својему говорећи: дом ћу сазидати теби. Зато слуга твој нађе у срцу својем да ти се помоли овом молитвом.

For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.

Тако, Господе, Господе, ти си Бог, и ријечи су твоје истина; ти си ово добро обрекао слузи својему.

And now, O Lord GOD, thou [art] that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:

Буди дакле вољан и благослови дом слуге својега да буде довијека пред тобом; јер си ти, Господе, рекао, и твојим ће благословом бити благословен дом слуге твојега довијека.

Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken [it]: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
