Четврта књига Мојсијева (која се зове Бројеви )

Тада се подиже сав збор и стаде викати, и народ плакаше ону ноћ.

And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

И викаху на Мојсија и на Арона сви синови Израиљеви; и сав збор рече им: камо да смо помрли у земљи Мисирској или да помремо у овој пустињи!

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

Зашто нас води Господ у ту земљу да изгинемо од мача, жене наше и дјеца наша да постану робље? Није ли боље да се вратимо у Мисир?

And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

И рекоше међу собом: да поставимо старјешину, па да се вратимо у Мисир.

And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

Тада Мојсије и Арон падоше ничице пред свијем збором синова Израиљевијех.

Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

А Исус син Навин и Халев син Јефонијин између онијех што уходише земљу, раздријеше хаљине своје,

And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, [which were] of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:

И рекоше свему збору синова Израиљевијех говорећи: земља коју прођосмо и уходисмо, врло је добра земља.

And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, [is] an exceeding good land.

Ако смо мили Господу, он ће нас одвести у ту земљу, и даће нам је; а то је земља у којој тече млијеко и мед.

If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

Само се не одмећите Господа, и не бојте се народа оне земље; јер их можемо појести; отступио је од њих заклон њихов, а с нама је Господ, не бојте их се.

Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they [are] bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD [is] with us: fear them not.

Тада рече сав збор да их побију камењем; али се показа слава Господња свијем синовима Израиљевијем у шатору од састанка.

But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

И рече Господ Мојсију: докле ће ме вријеђати тај народ? кад ли ће ми вјеровати послије толиких знака што сам учинио међу њима?

And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?

Ударићу га помором, и расућу га; а од тебе ћу учинити народ велик и јачи од овога.

I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.

А Мојсије рече Господу: али ће чути Мисирци, између којих си извео овај народ силом својом,

And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear [it], (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)

И рећи ће с људима ове земље, који су чули да си ти, Господе, био усред народа и да си се очима виђао, Господе, и облак твој да је стајао над њима, и у ступу од облака да си ишао пред њима дању и у ступу огњеном ноћу;

And they will tell [it] to the inhabitants of this land: [for] they have heard that thou LORD [art] among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and [that] thy cloud standeth over them, and [that] thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

Па кад побијеш овај народ, све до једнога, говориће народи, који су чули приповијест о теби, говорећи:

Now [if] thou shalt kill [all] this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,

Није могао Господ довести народа овога у земљу коју им је са заклетвом обећао, зато их поби у пустињи.

Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

Нека се дакле прослави сила Господња, као што си рекао говорећи:

And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,

Господ дуго чека и обилан је милошћу, прашта безакоње и гријех, али не правда кривога, него походи безакоње отачко на синовима до трећега и четвртога кољена.

The LORD [is] longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing [the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation].

Опрости безакоње овому народу ради велике милости своје, као што си праштао народу овому од Мисира довде.

Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

А Господ рече: праштам по ријечи твојој.

And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:

Али тако ја жив био, и тако сва земља била пуна славе Господње,

But [as] truly [as] I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

Ти људи који видјеше славу моју и знаке моје што сам учинио у Мисиру и у овој пустињи, и кушаше ме већ десет пута, и не послушаше ријечи моје,

Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

Неће видјети земље коју са заклетвом обећах оцима њиховијем, неће видјети ни један од онијех који ме увриједише.

Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

А слугу својега Халева, у којем бјеше други дух и који се сасвијем мене држао, њега ћу одвести у земљу у коју је ишао, и сјеме ће је његово наслиједити.

But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Али Амалик и Хананеј сједе у долини, зато се сјутра вратите натраг, и идите у пустињу к Црвеном Мору.

(Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) To morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.

Још рече Господ Мојсију и Арону говорећи:

And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

Докле ће тај зли збор викати на ме? Чуо сам вику синова Израиљевијех, којом вичу на ме.

How long [shall I bear with] this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

Кажи им: тако ја жив био, каже Господ, учинићу вам онако како сте говорили и ја чух.

Say unto them, [As truly as] I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

У овој ће пустињи попадати мртва тјелеса ваша, и сви између вас који су избројени у свем броју вашем од двадесет година и више, који викасте на ме,

Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,

Нећете ући у земљу, за коју подигав руку своју заклех се да ћу вас населити у њој, осим Халева сина Јефонијина и Исуса сина Навина.

Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, [concerning] which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

А дјецу вашу, за коју рекосте да ће постати робље, њих ћу одвести, и они ће познати земљу за коју ви не марите.

But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.

А ваша тјелеса мртва ће попадати у овој пустињи.

But [as for] you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.

А дјеца ваша биће пастири по пустињи четрдесет година, и носиће кар за прељубе ваше, докле не испропадају тјелеса ваша у пустињи.

And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.

After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, [even] forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, [even] forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

Ја Господ рекох, и тако ћу учинити свему том збору злому, који се сабрао на ме: у пустињи ће пропасти и ту помријети.

I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

А људи које бјеше послао Мојсије да уходе земљу, и који вративши се побунише сав збор да виче на њ, просувши зао глас о земљи,

And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,

Ти људи, који просуше зао глас о земљи, помријеше од помора пред Господом;

Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

А Исус син Навин и Халев син Јефонијин осташе живи између људи који су ишли да уходе земљу.

But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, [which were] of the men that went to search the land, lived [still].

И Мојсије каза све ове ријечи свијем синовима Израиљевијем, и народ плака веома.

And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

А сјутрадан уставши пођоше наврх горе, и рекоше: ево нас, идемо на мјесто за које је говорио Господ, јер згријешисмо.

And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we [be here], and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.

Али Мојсије рече: зашто преступате заповијест Господњу? Од тога неће бити ништа.

And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.

Не идите горе, јер Господ није међу вама; немојте да вас побију непријатељи ваши.

Go not up, for the LORD [is] not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.

Јер је Амалик и Хананеј тамо пред вама, и изгинућете од мача, јер одустависте Господа, па неће ни Господ бити с вама.

For the Amalekites and the Canaanites [are] there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.

Али они ипак навалише да иду наврх горе; али ковчег завјета Господњега и Мојсије не изађоше из окола.

But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.

Тада сиђе Амалик и Хананеј, који живљаху у оној гори, и разбише их и бацише дори до Орме.

Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, [even] unto Hormah.
