Кад разумје дакле Господ да су чули фарисеји да Исус више ученика добија и кршћава него Јован

When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

(Исус пак сам не кршћаваше него ученици његови),

(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

Остави Јудеју, и отиде опет у Галилеју.

He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

А ваљало му је проћи кроз Самарију.

And he must needs go through Samaria.

Тако дође у град Самаријски који се зове Сихар, близу села које даде Јаков Јосифу сину својему.

Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

А ондје бијаше извор Јаковљев; и Исус уморан од пута сјеђаше на извору; а бјеше око шестога сахата.

Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with [his] journey, sat thus on the well: [and] it was about the sixth hour.

Дође жена Самарјанка да захвати воде; рече јој Исус; дај ми да пијем.

There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

(Јер ученици његови бијаху отишли у град да купе јела.)

(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

Рече му жена Самарјанка: како ти, Јеврејин будући, можеш искати од мене жене Самарјанке да пијеш? Јер се Јевреји не мијешају са Самарјанима.

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

Одговори Исус и рече јој: да ти знаш дар Божиј, и ко је тај који ти говори: дај ми да пијем, ти би искала у њега и дао би ти воду живу.

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

Рече му жена: Господе! ни захватити немаш чим, а студенац је дубок; одакле ћеш дакле узети воду живу?

The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

Еда ли си ти већи од нашега оца Јакова, који нам даде овај студенац, и он из њега пијаше и синови његови и стока његова?

Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

Одговори Исус и рече јој: сваки који пије од ове воде опет ће ожедњети;

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

А који пије од воде коју ћу му ја дати неће ожедњети довијека; него вода што ћу му ја дати биће у њему извор воде која тече у живот вјечни.

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Рече му жена: Господе! дај ми те воде да не жедним нити да долазим овамо на воду.

The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

Рече јој Исус: иди зовни мужа својега, и дођи овамо.

Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

Одговори жена и рече му: немам мужа. Рече јој Исус: добро си казала: немам мужа;

The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

Јер си пет мужева имала, и сад кога имаш није ти муж; то си право казала.

For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

Рече му жена: Господе! видим да си ти пророк.

The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

Рече јој Исус: жено! вјеруј ми да иде вријеме кад се нећете молити оцу ни на овој гори ни у Јерусалиму.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

Ви не знате чему се молите; а ми знамо чему се молимо: јер је спасеније од Јевреја.

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

Али иде вријеме, и већ је настало, кад ће се прави богомољци молити оцу духом и истином, јер отац хоће таковијех богомољаца.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Бог је дух; и који му се моле, духом и истином треба да се моле.

God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.

Рече му жена: знам да ће доћи Месија који се зове Христос, кад он дође казаће нам све.

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

Рече јој Исус: ја сам који с тобом говорим.

Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am [he].

И тада дођоше ученици његови, и чуђаху се гдје говораше са женом; али ниједан не рече: шта хоћеш? или шта говориш с њом?

And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

А жена остави судове своје и отиде у град и рече људима:

The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

Ходите да видите човјека који ми каза све што сам учинила: да није то Христос?

Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

Изиђоше дакле из града и пођоше к њему.

Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

А ученици његови мољаху га међу тијем говорећи: Рави! једи.

In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.

А он им рече: ја имам јело да једем за које ви не знате.

But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

Тада ученици говораху међу собом: већ ако му ко донесе да једе?

Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him [ought] to eat?

А он им рече: јело је моје да извршим вољу онога који ме је послао, и да свршим његов посао.

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Не кажете ли ви да су још четири мјесеца па ће жетва приспјети? Ето, велим вам: подигните очи своје и видите њиве како су већ жуте за жетву.

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and [then] cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

И који жње прима плату, и сабира род за живот вјечни, да се радују заједно и који сије и који жње;

And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

Јер је у том истинита бесједа да је други који сије а други који жње.

And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

Ја вас послах да жњете гдје се ви не трудисте; други се трудише, а ви у посао њихов уђосте.

I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

И из града онога многи од Самарјана вјероваше га за бесједу жене која свједочаше: каза ми све што сам учинила.

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

Кад дођоше дакле Самарјани к њему, мољаху га да би остао код њих; и ондје оста два дана.

So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

И много их више вјерова за његову бесједу.

And many more believed because of his own word;

А жени говораху: сад не вјерујемо више за твоју бесједу, јер сами чусмо и познасмо да је овај заиста спас свијету, Христос.

And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard [him] ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

А послије два дана изиђе оданде, и отиде у Галилеју:

Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.

Јер сам Исус свједочаше да пророк на својој постојбини нема части.

For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.

А кад дође у Галилеју, примише га Галилејци који бијаху видјели све што учини у Јерусалиму на празник; јер и они идоше на празник.

Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.

Дође пак Исус опет у Кану Галилејску, гдје претвори воду у вино. И бјеше неки царев човјек којега син боловаше у Капернауму.

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

Овај чувши да Исус дође из Јудеје у Галилеју, дође к њему и мољаше га да сиђе и да му исцијели сина; јер бијаше на смрти.

When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.

И рече му Исус: ако не видите знака и чудеса, не вјерујете.

Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

Рече му царев човјек: Господе! сиђи док није умрло дијете моје.

The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

Рече му Исус: иди, син је твој здрав. И вјерова човјек ријечи коју му рече Исус, и пође.

Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

И одмах кад он силажаше, гле, сретоше га слуге његове и јавише му говорећи: син је твој здрав.

And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told [him], saying, Thy son liveth.

Тада питаше за сахат у који му лакше би; и казаше му: јуче у седмом сахату пусти га грозница.

Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

Тада разумје отац да бјеше онај сахат у који му рече Исус: син је твој здрав. И вјерова он и сва кућа његова.

So the father knew that [it was] at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

Ово опет друго чудо учини Исус кад дође из Јудеје у Галилеју.

This [is] again the second miracle [that] Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
