Дјела светијех апостола (Писао их свети апостол и јеванђелиста Лука )

И кад се наврши педесет дана бијаху заједно сви апостоли једнодушно.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

И уједанпут постаде хука с неба као духање силнога вјетра, и напуни сву кућу гдје сјеђаху;

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

И показаше им се раздијељени језици као огњени; и сједе по један на свакога од њих.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

И напунише се сви Духа светога, и стадоше говорити другијем језицима, као што им Дух даваше те говораху.

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

А у Јерусалиму стајаху Јевреји људи побожни из свакога народа који је под небом.

And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

А кад постаде овај глас, скупи се народ, и смете се: јер сваки од њих слушаше гдје они говоре његовијем језиком.

Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

И дивљаху се и чуђаху се говорећи један другоме: нијесу ли ово све Галилејци што говоре?

And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

Па како ми чујемо сваки свој језик у коме смо се родили?

And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Парћани, и Миђани, и Еламљани, и који смо из Месопотамије, и из Јудеје и Кападокије, и из Понта и Азије,

Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

И из Фригије и Памфилије, из Мисира и крајева Ливијскијех код Кирине, и путници из Рима, и Јудејци и дошљаци,

Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

Крићани и Арапи, чујемо гдје они говоре нашијем језицима величине Божије.

Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

И дивљаху се сви и не могаху се начудити говорећи један другоме: шта ће дакле ово бити?

And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

А други потсмијевајући се говораху: накитили су се вина.

Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

А Петар стаде са једанаесторицом и подиже глас свој и рече им: људи Јудејци и ви сви који живите у Јерусалиму! ово да вам је на знање, и чујте ријечи моје.

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all [ye] that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

Јер ови нијесу пијани као што ви мислите, јер је тек трећи сахат дана;

For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day.

Него је ово оно што каза пророк Јоило:

But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

И биће у пошљедње дане, говори Господ, излићу од Духа својега на свако тијело, и прорећи ће синови ваши и кћери ваше, и младићи ваши видјеће утваре и старци ваши сниће снове;

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Јер ћу на слуге своје и на слушкиње своје у те дане излити од Духа својега, и прорећи ће.

And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

И даћу чудеса горе на небу и знаке доље на земљи: крв и огањ и пушење дима.

And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

Сунце ће се претворити у таму и мјесец у крв прије него дође велики и славни дан Господњи.

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

И биће да ће се сваки спасти који призове име Господње.

And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Људи Израиљци! послушајте ријечи ове: Исуса Назарећанина, човјека од Бога потврђена међу вама силама и чудесима и знацима које учини Бог преко њега међу вама, као што и сами знате,

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Овога одређенијем савјетом и промислом Божијим предана примивши, преко руку безаконика приковасте и убисте;

Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

Јер Давид говори за њега: Господа једнако гледах пред собом: јер је с десне стране мене, да се не помакнем;

For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

Зато се развесели срце моје, и обрадова се језик мој, па још и тијело моје почиваће у наду;

Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

Јер нећеш оставити душе моје у паклу, нити ћеш дати да светац твој види трухљења.

Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Показао си ми путове живота: напунићеш ме весеља с лицем својијем.

Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

Људи браћо! нека је слободно казати вам управо за старјешину Давида да и умрије, и укопан би, и гроб је његов међу нама до овога дана.

Men [and] brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Пророк дакле будући, и знајући да му се Бог клетвом кле од рода бедара његовијех по тијелу подигнути Христа, и посадити га на пријестолу његову,

Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Предвидјевши говори за васкрсеније Христово да се не остави душа његова у паклу, ни тијело његово видје трухљења.

He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Овога Исуса васкрсе Бог, чему смо ми сви свједоци.

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Десницом дакле Божијом подиже се, и обећање светога Духа примивши од оца, изли ово што ви сад видите и чујете.

Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Јер Давид не изиђе на небеса, него сам говори: рече Господ Господу мојему: сједи мени с десне стране,

For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Док положим непријатеље твоје подножје ногама твојима.

Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

Тврдо дакле нека зна сав дом Израиљев да је и Господом и Христом Бог учинио овога Исуса кога ви распесте.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

А кад чуше, ражали им се у срцу, и рекоше Петру и осталијем апостолима: шта ћемо чинити, људи браћо?

Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?

А Петар им рече: покајте се, и да се крстите сваки од вас у име Исуса Христа за опроштење гријеха; и примићете дар светога Духа;

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Јер је за вас обећање и за дјецу вашу, и за све даљне које ће год дозвати Господ Бог наш.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.

И другијем многијем ријечима свједочаше, и мољаше их говорећи: спасите се од овога покваренога рода.

And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Који дакле радо примише ријеч његову крстише се; и пристаде у тај дан око три хиљаде душа.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls.

И осташе једнако у науци апостолској, и у заједници, и у ломљењу хљеба, и у молитвама.

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

И уђе страх у сваку душу; јер апостоли чинише многа чудеса и знаке у Јерусалиму.

And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

А сви који вјероваше бијаху заједно, и имаху све заједно.

And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

И течевину и имање продаваху и раздаваху свима као што ко требаше.

And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all [men], as every man had need.

И сваки дан бијаху једнако једнодушно у цркви, и ломљаху хљеб по кућама, и примаху храну с радости и у простоти срца,

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Хвалећи Бога, и имајући милост у свију људи. А Господ сваки дан умножаваше друштво онијех који се спасаваху.

Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
